All of the animals in my sculptures died legally. Some, like the humans, died from natural causes. Others, such as the non-humans, were killed in government-licensed slaughterhouses. But non-humans are legally killed in other places

. For instance, I've seen pest-control companies kill bugs and rodents in buildings and I've seen camouflaged-hunters kill deer in the forest. I've also seen veterinarians legally kill family pets in front of their owners.

By mixing these experiences with performance art, I think I explored a place somewhere between public murder and private massacre.
